Physician Assistant / Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Provider) – Pediatric Hospitalist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital
About the Role
At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, we deliver specialised pediatric care for infants, children, and teens facing complex medical challenges. Committed to family-centred care, we are establishing a new APP Pediatric Hospitalist service line.
Join our team as an APP Pediatric Hospitalist to support inpatient care for general pediatric admissions. You’ll collaborate with the hospitalist team by performing admissions, conducting daily rounds, crafting and overseeing treatment plans, ordering diagnostic tests, and facilitating discharges.
Role Overview
- Exposure time: 12-hour shifts (rotating, including weekends and holidays)
- Ideal candidates have prior inpatient acute pediatric APP experience or a strong pediatrics focus. Acute care certification is mandatory.

- Manage inpatient admissions for pediatric patients
- Conduct daily rounds, assessing and updating care plans
- Develop, implement, and monitor treatment protocols
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests/results
- Facilitate seamless patient discharges
- Provide compassionate, family-centred care aligned with Johns Hopkins values
Certain Requirements
Physician Assistant (PA)
- Clinical Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or equivalent route:
- Or Bachelor’s in Physician Assistant with National Certification
- Current Florida licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Up-to-date BLS certification
- Updated PALS certification
- Active National Physician Assistant Certification
Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
- Clinical Master’s in Nursing or DNP
- Active National Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care
- Current Florida APRN licensure
- Up-to-date BLS certification
- Updated PALS certification
Additional Requirement
- Work authorization: Current or visa-sponsored status not accepted. Applicants must detail unconditional work eligibility.

Compensation & Terms
- Stipend: Fixed rate of $71.73/hour (commensurate with equity and experience).
- Hours: 12-hour shifts (rotating, including weekends and holidays).
- Schedule flexibility: The Hospital retains rights to adjust schedules.
