Job Title: Linguistic QA Tester

Play it. Break it. Perfect it.

At Universally Speaking, we don’t just play games—we make them flawless. We are looking for linguistic perfectionists who thrive on precision and commit to delivering the best gaming experiences across the globe. Dive into new gaming realms, spot linguistic bugs, and refine every word, phrase, and line until it feels just right. Get hands-on, embrace the fast-paced environment, and ensure every player worldwide enjoys the highest quality possible.

About the Role

You’ll work side-by-side with talented testers, translators, and developers, reporting linguistic issues and advocating relentlessly for their perfect fixes. If you’re motivated by detail, passionate about games, and eager to influence how players experience them, you’ll flourish in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be the guardian of language across all games, ensuring every word, menu, and in-game message is natural, culturally accurate, and polished.
  • Test games like a professional using Universally Speaking’s LQA methods, the industry standard for linguistic quality assessment. Ensure nothing goes unnoticed.
  • Write detailed linguistic bug reports in professional databases, track progress, and verify fixes meet the intended standard.
  • Grow into an expert by owning projects end-to-end: from identifying linguistic flaws in indie titles to AAA blockbusters, mastering the full testing cycle.
  • Craft and refine test cases, document findings, and establish best practices in Linguistic QA.
  • Collaborate early with developers and testers to shape localisation strategies and improve testing approaches.
  • Continuously seek efficiency improvements, optimise workflows, and share knowledge to raise standards company-wide.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Spor linguistic inconsistencies, grammatical errors, and cultural misalignments in games. ✔ Follow demonstration testing protocols to identify language bugs and edge cases. ✔ Report issues clearly and precisely using internal tracking systems. ✔ Work closely with translators and developers to refine corrections and translations. ✔ Develop and maintain test cases focused on linguistic accuracy. ✔ Attend pre-launch sessions and participate in ongoing QA refinement. ✔ Contribute to improving localisation workflows and achieving continuous quality improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
