Arborist (Dee Valley) – Long-Term Vegetation Management & Tree Works

About the Role

Above is expanding its operations with Scottish Power Energy Networks, with a double-sized contract (now £10m/year) secured for six years. We’re now recruiting skilled Arborists to join our professional team for this high-profile energy infrastructure project in the Dee Valley (LL14 postcode). Ideal for those seeking long-term stability, career progression, and the chance to work on a cutting-edge utility programme.


What You’ll Do

  • Carry out vegetation management and tree works across Scottish Power Energy Networks
  • Conduct aerial tree pruning, dismantling, and felling, strictly complying with safety regulations and utility standards
  • Operate specialist equipment, including chainsaws, woodchippers, and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs)
  • Uphold safety and quality standards at every job site
  • Support team members, including mentoring apprentices and new staff where needed
  • Perform high-risk treeworks using rope-and-harness techniques or MEWPs

About You…

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • NPTC CS33: Fell Large Trees (>760mm)
  • NPTC CS34: Process Individual Windblown Trees
  • NPTC CS41: Undertake Section Felling Operations
  • Tower Earthing certification
  • NPTC CS39: Use Chainsaw from a Rope and Harness
  • UA1 – Utility Ticket
  • Full UK driving licence (essential; towing entitlement desirable)
  • Strong commitment to health & safety
  • Team player with a proactive, positive attitude
