Nicks Green Trees is a residential tree care specialist serving Harrow, Pinner, Hatch End, Stanmore, Bushey, and the surrounding suburbs. Led by Nick Kaye, the team has over thirty years of experience in climbing, pruning, and caring for trees in private gardens and family homes. The company is known locally for honest advice, practical solutions for residential plots, and clear communication with clients and neighbors. Nicks Green Trees is fully qualified and insured, holding NPTC and Lantra certifications and full public liability cover. The team takes pride in tidy, respectful work, protecting lawns, cleaning up thoroughly, and leaving properties as they were found.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Arborist role based in Edgware. The Arborist will carry out hands-on tree care, including pruning, crown reductions, removals, and general maintenance of trees in residential gardens. Daily tasks include assessing tree health and safety, identifying appropriate interventions, operating chainsaws and climbing equipment, and working in line with local conservation and safety regulations. The role involves communicating with clients and neighbors about planned work, providing clear explanations and honest recommendations, and ensuring work areas are protected and left clean and tidy. The Arborist will collaborate with the team to plan jobs, manage green waste removal, and maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.

  • Strong foundation in arboriculture, including practical experience with tree care and management.
  • Skills in forestry and working safely with trees in residential environments.
  • Proficiency in tree identification and assessing tree health, structure, and potential risks.
  • Certified Arborist qualification or equivalent professional certification in arboriculture (NPTC/Lantra or similar).
  • Ability to use climbing equipment, chainsaws, and other arborist tools safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards, local regulations, and best practices for domestic tree work.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain work clearly and provide honest advice to clients.
  • Capacity to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to job sites in Edgware and surrounding areas.
  • Previous experience in residential tree work is highly beneficial.
