Wyre Forest District Council

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Arborist to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain the trees within our open spaces to a high standard, ensuring they are healthy, well-managed, and safe for the public. You will play a key role in supporting the ongoing care and maintenance of our tree stock while helping to protect and enhance our green spaces.

The role will require you to work flexibly on a rota basis covering a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and Christmas working.

  • To work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post and emergencies dictate in addition to the out-of-hours rota.
  • This job includes duties that may require an element of physical exertion and mobility on an occasional or frequent basis.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
  • The postholder will assist with the activities of a small team of arboriculture staff, ensuring this is carried out safely, efficiently, competently, and to a high standard. They will also participate in routine machinery maintenance, ensuring correct and safe use of equipment and vehicles.
