About the Role

Based at BauWatch UK’s Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) at Unit 5, Hayfield Business Park, Auckley, Doncaster DN9 3FL, our fast-growing ARC team is expanding. As an ARC Operator, you’ll work in our monitoring centre, responding to security issues and incidents using advanced systems.

Your role is critical to delivering on our brand promise—outstanding customer satisfaction and service. A customer-focused attitude is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor all systems within the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), ensuring compliance with company procedures, legislation, and Government guidance.
  • Efficiently monitor all control room systems while adhering to operating procedures, legislation, and codes of practice (including BS5979, BS8418 & ISO9001:2008).
  • Liaise with Police, emergency services, and staff to coordinate appropriate emergency responses in line with company protocols.
  • Record all events, actions, and incidents in clear, legible, and accurate written reports.
  • Provide professional telephone answering services, ensuring all inquiries are dealt with courteously and efficiently.
  • Report equipment failures to maintain maximum system functionality, completing formal incident logs.
  • Maintain strict information security in compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Perform any additional duties relevant to the role.

Job Requirements

About You

  • Customer Service: Previous call centre or administrative experience is required.
  • Security Clearance: Successful completion of SC (Sensitive) clearance or willingness to obtain it for this role.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse incidents, determine root causes, and decide on appropriate responses and escalations.
  • Technological Proficiency: Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and operational experience with CCTV cameras. Familiarity with security industry standards.
  • Quality Oriented: Commitment to maintaining high-quality service, driving improvement, and advocating for quality in the team.
  • Solution-Focused: Approaches problems with a focus on efficient, effective solutions.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills & Teamwork: Demonstrates excellent communication, promotes collaborative relationships, and supports colleagues.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Ability to self-manage, solve problems, and complete tasks without constant supervision.

  • 24/7 Operation: Shifts include mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, 4 days on/4 days off (00:00–24:00 hours).
