Company Description
Scroxton & Scroxton Ltd, trading as Scroxton Architects, Scroxton Construction, and Scroxton Interiors, is a design-led practice based in Olney, Buckinghamshire. We are looking for a new team member to join our friendly office-based architect team (please do not apply if you want to work from home).
Our team specialises in designing and building exceptional spaces across bespoke new-build houses, private residential schemes, commercial developments, and multi-unit housing schemes. Role Description
The Architect role is a full-time, on-site position based in Olney. We believe that the best teams work together; however, the working day can be flexible to help deal with external issues and routines. The Architect will be responsible for:
- Developing design concepts
- Producing detailed architectural drawings and specifications
- Coordinating with internal teams and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle

Daily tasks include:

- Meeting with clients to understand project requirements
- Preparing design presentations
- Managing planning and building regulation submissions
- Ensuring that designs are practical, sustainable, and aligned with budget and timeline expectations
The role also involves:
- Overseeing aspects of project delivery
- Collaborating with construction and interiors teams
- Maintaining high standards of quality and compliance across all assigned projects
A successful candidate must be interested in helping to develop and improve internal processes that help improve the client journey and inter-team relationships.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture and ARB registration
- Minimum 3 years post Part 3 experience
- Strong skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, including concept development and detailed design documentation
- Skills in Project Management, including organising workflows, managing timelines, and coordinating stakeholders
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, etc) and strong technical drawing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site with our construction team, communicate clearly with clients and project teams, and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and sustainable design practices is highly beneficial
- Previous experience in residential and commercial projects, and a portfolio demonstrating design quality and problem-solving ability
- Interior Design experience is not essential, but if possible, candidates should bring any portfolio work that demonstrates an ability to develop in interior spaces, specifications, and working details
- A working experience of business development/networking is not necessary, but if possible, candidates should demonstrate an ability to develop new client relationships if they have previous experience in doing so
