There are plenty of practices where you'll spend years becoming an expert in one small part of a project.
There are far fewer where you'll work directly alongside the founder, influence major planning applications, meet clients, help shape the direction of the business, and see first-hand how a successful architectural practice is built.
This is one of those opportunities.
We're working exclusively with a young, design-led London practice founded by an architect with over fifteen years' experience delivering complex residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, including some of London's most significant regeneration projects. Having progressed from architectural assistant through to associate at a leading London studio before establishing his own practice, he's now looking to build a team that shares the same passion for thoughtful design, commercial understanding and genuine ownership.
Despite being a growing studio, the projects are anything but small.
The practice's portfolio already includes significant residential-led regeneration, mixed-use developments, hotels, co-living and commercial projects, with schemes ranging from early feasibility through to planning submission, plus two cultural projects on site.
What makes this opportunity different isn't the scale of the work.
It's the scale of your involvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll work directly alongside the practice founder on a broad range of live projects, becoming involved in everything from feasibility studies and planning strategy through to client meetings, design development and planning submissions.
Unlike many larger practices, where responsibilities naturally become more specialised as teams grow, this role offers the opportunity to gain exposure across the wider business.
You'll see how projects are won.
How clients are managed.
How planning strategies evolve.
How commercial decisions influence design.
And, perhaps most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to those conversations rather than simply observe them.
If you've reached the point where you're looking for greater ownership, broader exposure and the chance to genuinely influence projects, this is the sort of environment where you'll thrive.
Who We're Looking For
We're deliberately keeping an open mind on level.
You could be an exceptional Part II Architectural Assistant ready for the next step.
You could be a newly qualified Architect looking for greater responsibility.
Or you could already have several years' post-Part III experience.
What's more important is the way you think.
Ideally You'll Bring:
- Strong residential and mixed-use project experience.
- Exposure to feasibility studies, planning applications and early design stages.
- Excellent graphic presentation skills and a genuine eye for design quality.
- Confidence working collaboratively within small teams.
- A commercially aware mindset and an interest in understanding the "why" behind design decisions.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.

Experience with MicroStation would be advantageous, although it's by no means essential, as the studio is very open-minded to other platforms.
Why Join This Practice?
This isn't simply an opportunity to join a growing practice.
It's an opportunity to help build one.
As the business continues to expand, so too will the opportunities available to those who join early.
You'll work directly with an experienced architect who has delivered major projects for some of the UK's most respected developers and clients, gain exposure that can be difficult to achieve within larger organisations, and play a meaningful role in shaping both projects and the future direction of the practice.
We will initially appoint this position on a contract, with the aim of a longer-term permanent role, subject to workload and suitability.
If this sounds like the sort of opportunity you've been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply with your CV and portfolio, or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
