Job Description

You’ll be working closely within multi-disciplinary design teams, with clients and contractors. Experience in infrastructure design would be advantageous—though not a pre-requisite.

Job Duties

  • Perform general duties across a range of projects and design stages, including design, detailing, drawings, contract administration, and site inspections.
  • Act as a project leader on small to medium-sized projects, depending on your experience level.
  • Present ideas to clients and prospective clients.
  • Handle general administrative and management duties relevant to architectural practice.
  • Assist in the preparation of design work and presentations, including:
    • Producing working drawings
    • Writing specifications
    • Preparing contract documentation
    • Supporting project development and presentations

Specific Skills Required

  • Must be proficient in CAD—familiarity with the following software will be beneficial:
    • Bentley MicroStation / Aecosim
    • AutoCAD
    • REVIT (current, hands-on experience required for 3D workflows)
  • Advantageous (but not essential) skill sets:
    • Working knowledge of parametric modelling software, such as Rhino/Grasshopper or SolidWorks
    • Familiarity with SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint, Lumion (training provided where needed)
    • Experience in Common Data Environments (CDE) like B360, ProjectWise, or AutoDesk Docs
  • Personal attributes:
    • Creative, practical, adaptable, and enthusiastic
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to organise projects methodically
    • Proficient in English with excellent communication skills (verbal, drawings, written reports)

Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree qualification (preferably with a Diploma or Master’s in architecture or a related field, though the latter is not absolutely essential).
  • Recent experience working on multi-disciplinary projects (medium to large scale)
  • Familiarity with building contracts and UK regulatory systems
  • Familiarity with building systems, standards, and regulations.
  • IT literate, with:
    • Knowledge of CAD software
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including OneNote, Teams)
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a busy workload.

Preferred Qualifications

  • University-level qualifications in architecture or engineering.
