Architectural Designer / Interior Architect
We are looking for an Architectural Designer / Interior Architect to join our growing practice in Chatham, Kent.
Working across hospitality, retail and residential projects, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for projects from initial design through to planning, Building Regulations, technical design and construction. Our work includes cafés, restaurants, drive-thrus, retail fit-outs, residential developments and projects for national multi-site brands.
As a small but ambitious practice, every team member plays an important role. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities, gaining exposure to all stages of the design and construction process while managing a varied workload.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing projects from concept through to technical and construction drawing packages.
- Preparing planning application and Building Regulations drawings.
- Producing general arrangement drawings, reflected ceiling plans, sections, elevations, FF&E layouts and technical details.
- Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, Building Control and local authorities.
- Managing multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of design and technical accuracy.

We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds. You may already have commercial fit-out experience, residential experience, planning expertise or strong technical drawing skills. If you are motivated, technically capable and keen to develop, we would like to hear from you.
Essential
- Strong technical drawing and design skills.
- Good communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Based in the UK and able to work full-time from our office in Chatham, Kent.
Desirable
- Experience delivering commercial fit-out projects, including cafés, restaurants, retail or office interiors.
- Experience preparing planning applications.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and construction detailing.
- Experience producing technical drawing packages.
- ArchiCAD experience (preferred), or experience using similar BIM/CAD software such as Vectorworks or Revit.
- Experience coordinating consultants and project teams.
- Residential project experience, including extensions, conversions or new-build housing.
- Experience working with franchise operators or multi-site rollout programmes.

Salary £34,000 - £40,000 per year depending on experience and ability
