Architectural Manager
Contract Architect (Public Sector) – Central Government Team

Our multidisciplinary design and technical advisory team is part of Mace Consult Technical Services. Our design team includes architects, architectural technologists, engineers, urban designers, master planners, and interior designers. We deliver projects nationally for both public and private sectors, including government departments, local authorities, and private developers.
Mace is currently recruiting qualified architects for our central government team to support our lead designers in the delivery of projects, ranging from new builds, extensions, remodels, to refurbishments, with project values between £500k and £250m. The role is UK-based, and we welcome applications from all UK regions.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and managing pre-construction design.
- Providing a technical advisory role post-tender.
- Seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and improving working processes.
- Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing stakeholders and coordinating with wider design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams.
- Assisting with the production of reporting information.
- Attending and participating in client meetings and design workshops as required.
- Monitoring work outputs to ensure they are timely, in-scope, and of the expected quality.
- Engaging with business improvement directives, including net zero carbon transition.
- Proactively identifying and managing carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
- Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of technical and statutory regulations.
- Demonstrating proficiciency in Revit, ISO 19650, and knowledge of the Building Safety Act.

Requirements
You’ll need to have:
- Be Part 3 qualified, ARB or CIAT registered.
- Be digitally savvy, particularly in using BIM and Revit, and able to build strong, lasting client relationships.
- Provide support to motivated teams in a multidisciplinary design consultancy with experience in public and private sectors.
- Be passionate about the opportunities offered by Mace.
