Architectural Manager
Qualified Architect – Central Government Team (UK-Based)

Our multidisciplinary design and technical advisory team operates within Mace Consult Technical Services, comprising architects, architectural technologists, engineers, urban designers, master planners, and interior designers. We deliver national projects for public and private sectors, including government departments, local authorities, and private developers.
We are currently recruiting qualified architects for our central government team to support lead designers in delivering new builds, extensions, remodels, and refurbishments, with project values ranging from £500k to £250m. The UK-based role welcomes applications from all regions.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and managing pre-construction design
- Providing a technical advisory role post-tender
- Seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and optimising working processes
- Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Managing stakeholders across projects and clients
- Collaborating with wider design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams
- Assisting with production of reporting information
- Attending/participating in client meetings and design workshops as necessary
- Monitoring work outputs to ensure they are timely, in scope, and meet expected quality standards
- Engaging with business improvement directives, including:
- Collaborating toward the common goal of net-zero carbon transition
- Sharing responsibility for proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions
- Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of:
- Technical and statutory regulations
- Revit proficiency
- ISO 19650 knowledge
- Building Safety Act

Requirements
You’ll need to have:
- Part 3 qualification, ARB or CIAT registration
- Digital proficiency, particularly in BIM and Revit software
- Ability to build lasting client relationships and support strong, motivated teams
- Experience in both public and private sector projects within a multidisciplinary design team, ideally in a consultancy technical services background
