BTG Eddisons is a leading firm of chartered surveyors, property consultants, valuers and auctioneers, providing expert advice across the commercial property sector. Due to continued growth within our surveying team, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated Architectural Measured Building Surveyor / Laser Survey Technician to join our Leeds office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about measured building surveys, laser scanning technology and producing high-quality survey drawings.
The role
As an Architectural Measured Building Surveyor / 3D Laser Survey Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out measured building and 3D laser scan surveys of a wide range of education, commercial and industrial properties throughout the UK.
Your role will involve capturing accurate survey data using the latest 3D laser scanning equipment, processing and registering point cloud data, and assisting in the production and quality checking of survey drawings using AutoCAD/Revit
The position will require travel to project sites and therefore use of your own vehicle is essential. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed in line with company policy.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out measured building and laser scan surveys across a variety of property types
- Operate and maintain 3D laser scanning equipment
- Process and register point cloud data accurately
- Produce high-quality measured building survey drawings in AutoCAD/Revit
- Assist with the preparation of floor plans, elevations, sections and other survey deliverables
- Conduct quality assurance checks on completed drawings and survey outputs
- Liaise with colleagues and clients to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Travel to sites as required
Essential Requirements
- Proven industry experience in measured building surveying
- Experience using 3D laser scanning equipment and software
- Strong understanding of point cloud registration workflows
- Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of producing accurate, high-quality drawings. (Revit an advantage although training will be provided)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong IT skills and technical aptitude
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Professional, honest and hardworking approach
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Full UK driving licence
- Own vehicle available for business use
- A genuine interest in property, surveying and built environments
- Willingness to travel regularly
