Freelance Architectural Technician

Location: Multiple locations across the UK Contract: 6–12 months Working Pattern: Hybrid / Remote Rate: £25–£30 per hour

About the Role

We are searching for talented Technical & Creative Designers to join us on a contract basis. This role is perfect for professionals who blend technical precision with creative thinking to deliver high-quality design solutions across Commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and other design software
  • Develop creative concepts and visual assets using tools such as InDesign and SketchUp
  • Amend and update designs based on feedback and project requirements
  • Ensure all outputs meet quality standards, deadlines, and client expectations
  • Support project documentation and presentation materials

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar technical/creative design role
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • AutoCAD
    • Adobe InDesign
    • SketchUp
  • Ability to produce both technical drawings and creative design work
  • Good understanding of design principles, layouts, and visual communication
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage workload and deliver to tight deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary design environment
  • Knowledge of additional Adobe Creative Suite tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • 3D visualisation or rendering experience
  • Experience working across multiple sectors (e.g., commercial, retail, hospitality)
  • Familiarity with UK design standards or project workflows
  • Previous contract or freelance experience
