Architectural Technician

Blue Diamond Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a highly reputable five-star house builder to appoint an Architectural Technician / Technologist to join their growing East Midlands region.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established developer renowned for delivering high-quality residential schemes. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Regional Design & Technical team, contributing to the delivery of projects from planning through to completion while benefiting from excellent long-term career development.

The Role

As an Architectural Technician / Technologist, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating technical information to support the successful delivery of residential developments. Working closely with the Regional Design & Technical Director, Architects, Layout Designers, Engineering Consultants, and other internal departments, you will ensure designs are technically compliant, buildable, and delivered to programme.

Responsibilities

  • Producing and coordinating working drawings, site plans and external works layouts
  • Preparing and managing Building Regulations applications through to approval
  • Coordinating technical information with external consultants and internal departments
  • Managing drawing registers and ensuring accurate document control
  • Issuing drawings and technical documentation to site teams, consultants and subcontractors
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications to discharge conditions
  • Producing and submitting Robust Details applications
  • Reviewing consultant information to ensure compliance with company standards and current legislation
  • Attending internal design meetings, technical reviews, and site meetings as required
  • Supporting the resolution of technical queries throughout the construction process
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, Building Regulations, and NHBC requirements

About You

  • Qualified in Architectural Technology or a related discipline (CIAT accreditation desirable but not essential)
  • Previous experience as an Architectural Technician or Technologist within the residential development or house building sector
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and residential construction
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience of other technical design software being advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external consultants
