Location: Guildford

Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 (dependent on experience)


A well-established architectural practice based in Guildford is looking to recruit a talented Architectural Technician to strengthen its expanding team. With an excellent reputation for delivering innovative projects across the commercial, residential, retail, and education sectors, the practice is recognised for its strong technical capability and high design standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive studio, working on a varied portfolio of projects while continuing to develop your technical skills and career.

The Role of Architectural Technician Will Involve

  • Producing accurate technical drawings and detailed construction packages for projects across multiple sectors
  • Developing technical design information from planning approval through to construction and completion
  • Preparing Building Regulations submissions and ensuring designs comply with current UK legislation and technical standards
  • Producing and maintaining project models and documentation using Revit
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and wider project teams to coordinate technical information
  • Assisting in the preparation of specifications, schedules, and comprehensive construction documentation
  • Attending design team meetings, client meetings, and site visits where required
  • Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle and assisting in resolving construction-related queries
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality expectations while meeting client requirements
  • Managing workload across several projects, maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy throughout

The Successful Architectural Technician Will Have

  • A qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a closely related discipline
  • Proven experience working within a UK architectural practice
  • Strong technical ability with a thorough understanding of UK construction techniques, detailing, and building systems
  • Excellent proficiency in Revit is essential
  • A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning procedures, and technical compliance requirements
  • Experience working across a variety of project sectors would be beneficial
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines
