Circa £35,000 Dependant on Experience 12-Month Maternity Cover Based onsite at our Liverpool Head Office

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Technician to join our Property team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to support the design and delivery of a wide range of construction projects.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, you will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant technical drawings, supporting the Production team with technical expertise, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with current legislation and industry standards. You'll play a key role in maintaining drawing quality, supporting planning and building regulation applications, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes and practices.

Job Overview

  • Producing high-quality 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD software, interpreting construction requirements, and translating concepts into detailed design plans.
  • Creating and amending drawings to ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, planning requirements and environmental standards.
  • Providing technical support to the Production team, including building layouts and guidance on construction materials.
  • Producing dimensioned design proposal drawings, including front elevations, side elevations, frame plans and roof plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised CAD files and project documentation to support efficient project delivery.
  • Managing applications for Building Regulations, Planning and other project-related requirements and liaising with Statutory Authorities to obtain Consents.
  • Working closely with your Line Manager to provide updates on the progress of new and ongoing projects.
  • Keeping up to date with developments within the construction industry and ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of internal systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the department.
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures and undertaking other duties appropriate to the role and within your level of competence, liaising with external consultants e.g. Structural Engineers to support and assist in the development of drawings through to certification.

Minimum Criteria To Apply

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum of three years' experience using AutoCAD software.
  • Proven design skills, with experience producing comprehensive drawing packages and technical specifications.
  • A strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience producing accurate and detailed drawings, with a keen eye for quality and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively to deadlines and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience maintaining structured filing systems and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A willingness to undertake site visits and support the wider team as required.
