The Role:

The post of Architectural Technologist is to work in the Council's Home Improvement Agency, which is located in the Private Sector Housing Team within the Housing, Regeneration and Operations directorate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits and client consultations to assess needs and develop suitable design solutions
  • Prepare detailed drawings, ranging from level access showers to extensions, specifications, and schedules of works for home adaptations and improvements
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money
  • Liaise with clients, Occupational Therapists, Contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, planning requirements, and relevant legislation
  • Oversee procurement processes and contract administration
  • Monitor progress on-site and resolve any technical issues
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure excellent customer service throughout

About You:

  • Hold a qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • Has experience in residential design, ideally within adaptations
  • Has strong technical knowledge of construction methods, building regulations and accessibility standards
  • Have an organised work approach
