About the Role
We are a multidisciplinary team working with Data Centre clients across UK & Ireland and Europe, on both Hyperscale and Colocation projects. These projects are led from our specialist Data Centre team based in the UK in conjunction with local teams across Europe, ensuring localisation and permitting delivery. Additionally, our other global design teams provide resource and capability to support these projects.
We are seeking an experienced Architect/ Architecture Technologist/ Lead Consultant, with a strong technical background in the DC sector, who can:
- Lead multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering projects at a Technical Director level
- Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with key clients through both successful project delivery and a trusted Client Account Manager (CAM) approach
- Assist the sector lead in identifying future pipeline opportunities and securing projects to meet allocated revenue targets

This role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring:
- Potential issues are identified and troubleshooted early
- Appropriate resources are deployed
- Commercial and contractual governance is met for key client projects
- Projects deliver to stated fees and margins
The role is flexible within the UK/Ireland, though a base near Manchester, Dublin, or Belfast is preferable. UK & I/European travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Leadership
- Lead design and delivery of projects as Technical Director/Lead Designer/Architecture Consultant
- Oversee discipline leads across architecture and engineering for deliverables
- Lead multidisciplinary bids, both technically and commercially, for key clients
- Ensure internal governance compliance at bid stage and during project delivery
- Identify and secure targeted projects/revenue streams
- Present proposals to clients and prospective clients
- Support senior directors in internal management and sector strategy
Commercial & Operational Deliverables
- Assist with contractual and commercial governance for key accounts
- Monitor profitability and project lifecycles to avoid margin erosion
- Ensure as-sold fee alignment, particularly on Colocation Renewal (CRA) activities
Technical & Administrative Expectations
- Maintain expertise in data centre technical design, digital workflows, and architectural delivery
- Work to immovable deadlines, balancing multiple projects and resource allocation
- Collaborate closely with European teams, contractors, and clients—executive communication skills are essential
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Qualifications & Background
- Fully Chartered Architect or Technologist (e.g., MRTPI, RIBA, ARIBA equivalents)
- Proven experience in data centre-focused architectural/lead delivery, with BIM/LEED certifications or sector-specific accreditations a plus
- Solid commercial awareness (requires understanding of bid pricing methodology)
- Deep insight into:
- Building regulations, sustainability standards, and IT system requirements
- UK/EU permitting processes
- Generating delivery documentation and revisions

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, BIM360, Fastrak, and Aarke (ideally 360Sites, Flux/Clash Detective)
- Ability to cope with high-pressure deadlines without compromising quality
- Demonstrated record of contract and third-party coordination
- Commitment to auditable professional development
Location & Relocation readyness
- Preferable to have (or be willing to) relocate near a UK hub (Manchester preferable)
