JOB TITLE: Archivist

SALARY: £48,987 - £54,430

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-time, 6-month FTC

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. This role might require you to be in the Archive more than 2 days per week depending on role requirements. Job Description Summary

What you'll be doing

This is an opportunity to work across the full archive lifecycle, helping preserve and make accessible the history and heritage of Lloyds Banking Group. You'll join the Group Archives & Museum team, supporting the day-to-day management of our London archive collections. This is a varied role combining collections management, digitisation and digital preservation, and researcher services, giving you the opportunity to work with both physical and digital records while supporting colleagues and researchers across the organisation and beyond.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Appraise, accession and catalogue archive collections using our archives management systems.
  • Ingest digital records into our digital preservation repository and support digitisation projects.
  • Respond to historical enquiries and support visiting researchers.
  • Undertake collections care and facilities management activities, including environmental monitoring and preservation tasks.
  • Work with colleagues across the business and contribute to archive and museum projects as required.

What we're looking for

  • Postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management (or equivalent).
  • Experience appraising, cataloguing and documenting archive collections (including digital).
  • Experience responding to research enquiries and supporting researchers.
  • Knowledge of archival standards, professional practice and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working with archive management systems.
  • Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.

And any experience of these would be great

  • Experience using Axiell Calm and/or Axiell Collections.
  • Experience using Preservica.
  • Experience supporting digitisation projects and quality assurance activities.
  • Experience of collections care, environmental monitoring or archive store management.
