The Role

As Area Director of Sales UK, you will provide strategic sales leadership across 8 of Hyatt’s growing managed UK portfolio, shaping and driving commercial performance through market insight, disciplined execution and strong stakeholder collaboration. Reporting to the Area Vice President UK & Ireland and part of the senior leadership team in the UK, this role carries responsibility for delivering ambitious revenue growth, strengthening market share and positioning Hyatt’s UK hotels for continued commercial success.

Based at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, this will be your main area of focus, as you will oversee this property on a day to day basis, supported by a Sales & Marketing team and work closely with the on property leadership team, while regularly travelling across London and the UK to support hotels as necessary. Acting as a trusted commercial partner to General Managers, hotel leadership teams and regional leaders, you will bring clarity, direction and confidence to sales strategy across the portfolio.

You will lead, develop and inspire sales teams, embedding best in class practices across business development, account management, segment strategy, client engagement and commercial planning. With a strong understanding of market dynamics and a people focused leadership style, you will ensure sales capability continues to evolve in line with Hyatt’s growth and ambitions in the UK.

This is a highly strategic leadership role for an experienced sales leader who can operate at senior commercial director level, influence across a complex portfolio and deliver sustainable results through people, partnerships and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for sales across multiple Hyatt hotels in the UK
  • Develop and execute portfolio wide sales strategies that drive total revenue growth, market share and profitability
  • Lead, coach and develop on property and cluster sales teams, ensuring strong capability, engagement and succession planning
  • Partnering closely with General Managers, Directors of Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, Finance, Operations and our Commercial North team to deliver integrated commercial strategies
  • Act as a senior commercial advisor to hotel leadership teams, providing insight, challenge and direction on sales performance, market opportunities and business priorities
  • Drive performance across key segments including corporate, meetings and events, leisure, groups, consortia, entertainment and luxury where relevant
  • Strengthen Hyatt’s position with key national, regional and global accounts, ensuring strong client relationships and commercial return
  • Identify new business opportunities across the UK market and support hotels in converting high value opportunities into profitable revenue
  • Lead strategic account planning, business reviews and performance discussions across the portfolio
  • Ensure robust sales plans, targets and activity frameworks are in place across each hotel, with clear accountability for delivery
  • Work closely with Revenue Management to align sales activity with pricing strategy, demand periods, market positioning and overall commercial objectives
  • Guide hotels on market intelligence, competitor activity, client trends and changing demand patterns
  • Represent Hyatt in senior client meetings, owner discussions, regional reviews and corporate commercial forums as required
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning, ensuring sales strategies are aligned to financial targets and growth ambitions
  • Champion Hyatt’s global sales strategy, tools and processes, ensuring consistent adoption and effective execution across the UK portfolio

About You

You are a commercially astute sales leader with significant experience in hotel sales, ideally across multi property, area, cluster or regional environments. You bring a strong understanding of the UK hospitality market, key business segments and the commercial levers required to drive sustainable revenue growth.

You are confident operating at senior leadership level and have a proven ability to influence General Managers, owners, regional leaders and commercial teams. You balance strategic thinking with operational discipline and are comfortable moving between portfolio wide priorities and individual hotel performance needs.
