Area Director – North West (West Midlands - Black Country)

Home-based with extensive regional travel

Closing date: 8th July 2026 (subject to change)

About Inspiring Vet Care

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we’re trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We’re looking for an exceptional Area Director to lead a portfolio of veterinary practices across the Bath & Wiltshire region, shaping performance, culture, and strategic direction across multiple brands.

This home-based role involves extensive travel and close engagement with clinical and operational teams, presenting an opportunity to influence day-to-day delivery and long-term regional success.

The Difference You’ll Make

As Area Director, you’ll play a central leadership role in driving:

  • Operational excellence
  • Commercial performance
  • High-quality clinical outcomes

You’ll collaborate closely with Practice Directors, clinical leaders, and operational teams across both single-site and multi-site practices, ensuring each location is supported, aligned, and performing at its best.

Partnering with the Regional Director and HR Business Partner, you’ll deliver a joined-up approach to people leadership, talent development, and organisational culture, embedding a high-performance mindset across a geographically diverse area of more than 20 practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical, operational, and commercial performance of practices, ensuring excellent outcomes for patients, clients, and teams
  • Hold full accountability for a large, complex regional budget, driving sustainable growth and financial performance
  • Translate business strategy into action through effective stakeholder engagement and leadership
  • Drive attraction, retention, and engagement initiatives across the region
  • Collaborate with the Area Support Manager to deliver aligned priorities, performance improvements, and operational excellence
  • Provide direct line management and coaching to clinical and non-clinical Practice Directors
  • Support change management, continuous improvement, and long-term regional development plans

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
