Area Manager

Area/Shift Manager – Operations (Amazon)

As an Area/Shift Manager at Amazon, you’ll lead a large and diverse team to ensure your operational area delivers consistent, high-quality results aligned with global business demands. This hands-on role requires you to drive productivity, foster a culture of safety, and collaborate with colleagues to tackle operational challenges—where no two days will be the same.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing across your team and site
  • Analyse and implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality and productive operations that meet business objectives in all shifts
  • Lead and manage a team, balance administrative duties, and nurture a strong team culture
  • Evaluate performance, identify process improvements, and optimise workflows to enhance customer service
  • Collaborate with other managers to standardise shift processes and operational best practices

A Day in the Life

  • Work flexible shifts at one of Amazon’s operational sites
  • Prioritise safety standards, monitor efficiency, and manage daily operational tasks
  • Address team management, escalations, process improvements, and contingency planning as needed
  • Partner with colleagues and external stakeholders to meet customer demands and performance targets
  • Analyse data and performance metrics alongside business leaders, and discuss technical improvements with engineers

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven English communication skills (written and verbal) for effective stakeholder interaction
  • Bachelor’s degree, or relevant work experience
  • Experience managing stakeholders, driving collaboration, and influencing decisions
  • Ability to leverage data to guide business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, logistics, retail, or grocery management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
