Area Manager
Team Lead – Facilities Operations

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations
- Manage cleaning operatives on client sites, providing daily oversight.
- Regular site visits to audit delivery, quality management systems (QMS), and health & safety (H&S).
- Budget control: Monitor cost variances, create purchase orders, and approve invoices for payment.

Client & Supplier Relations
- Regular interaction with suppliers, as well as signing off supplier invoices for payment.
- Ensure strong customer support aligned with contract service-level agreements (SLA).
- Mobilise contract wins, starting from TUPE transitions to steady-state operations.
Team Leadership
- Motivate and manage on-site staff, including providing training, supervision, and replacement cover when needed.
- Conduct training needs assessments and allocate staff accordingly.
- Support business development, including client surveys, pricing discussions, and prospective meetings.
Performance & HR Support
- Performance management of assigned team members.
- Follow disciplinary and grievance procedures in consultation with HR.
- Recruit new hires (including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and onboarding).
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure a safe working environment on client sites.
- Collaborate with clients on onsite health & safety matters.
- Conduct regular "Toolbox" talks with staff.

About You
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in facilities management or a related industry required.
- 2+ years of demonstrated team management, with proven people leadership skills.
- Interest in working with outsourced soft services and commercial awareness.
- Budget management and resource planning experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills for a demanding environment.
