This opportunity requires a candidate who is comfortable with regional travel as you will be required to work around the South West and some of South East region. This is a leadership role with full profit and loss accountability, offering the opportunity to shape operational excellence, influence purchasing strategy, and drive business growth across multiple sites. Working closely with our Commercial team, you will play a key role in optimising margins, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will take ownership of both the commercial and operational success of your region. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the operational and compliance performance of all regional non-ferrous depots, with full P&L accountability Analysing margins, costs, and overheads to drive efficiencies and deliver performance in line with budget Influencing and approving depot-level purchasing strategies, ensuring competitiveness and profitability Overseeing procurement processes and supplier performance to achieve best value Coordinating regional tonnage aggregation, stock turnover, and domestic/export sales activities Conducting detailed trend analysis to identify opportunities and support strategic decision-making Driving operational excellence across depots, ensuring consistent standards, efficiency, and KPI delivery Monitoring plant performance, utilisation, and maintenance to maximise productivity Ensuring quality control standards meet UK specifications and customer requirements Leading stocktakes and approving non-ferrous out-turns Embedding a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across all sites Leading, developing, and supporting depot teams through coaching, training, and performance management Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies Championing a high-quality customer experience across all depots Producing monthly performance reviews and supporting future commercial planning About You You are a commercially astute and operationally focused leader with strong experience in operational site environments. You bring a balance of analytical thinking, people leadership, and market awareness. You will have: Ideally proven experience within a non-ferrous operation, with strong knowledge of grades and export preparation Experience working with both mobile and fixed processing plant Strong commercial awareness, particularly in purchasing and export markets Demonstrated experience managing profit and loss Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities A proactive approach to leadership, with a passion for developing people and driving performance A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines This is a multi site role which involves travel as well as extended hours as necessary to perform the role Where applicable, enhance local community relationships through the support of relevant events and charities.
