Area Manager - Castle Pubs, Central London

Distinctively individual and truly authentic, Castle Pubs are an original collection of pubs that sit within Mitchells & Butlers ‘City Division’. Even within this eclectic collection of pubs, this Central London District is something special. Each of our iconic pubs ooze original character and personality to suit their location. Attracting guests as diverse, interesting and discerning as our beers on tap. Come and be part of something original.

From the best locally distilled artisan spirits to delicious untapped wines, top and tailed with an industry leading rotating craft beer range we're very picky about what makes it into our pubs – it matters to our guests, so it matters to us. We like to be different, quirky – ahead of the game. Food menus are based on fresh, seasonal pub dishes and carefully sourced ingredients to cater for our discerning guests. From Brighton to Manchester our General Managers and teams make us what we are, and because no two pub teams are the same, no two pubs are.

We are on the hunt for a proven Area Manager seeking a new and challenging opportunity to lead and inspire a District of 13 individual businesses covering some of the most exciting locations in Central London. This District boasts some legendary pubs from ‘The Crown & Two Chairmen’ nestled on Dean St, home to media types and socialites, to the famous ‘De Hems Dutch Cafe Bar’ hosting some of the most interesting continental beers in the capital, not to mention ‘The Sun in Splendour’ with its vibrant frontage on the Portobello Rd.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
