Area Sales Engineer – Pumps & Rotating Equipment
Yorkshire & North East
Location: Home-based
Salary: £50 - £65k + Bonus and Car
We are recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Engineer to develop sales of pumps, rotating equipment, and engineered solutions across Yorkshire and the North East.
The role involves selling directly to end users within chemical, oil & gas, wastewater, food & beverage manufacturing, and other process industries.
We are looking for someone with strong commercial drive and proven mechanical aptitude – capable of understanding customer applications, identifying technical challenges, and recommending effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow existing accounts across the region
- Sell pumps and rotating equipment solutions to industrial end users
- Conduct site visits to assess applications and customer requirements
- Prepare technical quotations and proposals
- Build strong relationships with engineering, maintenance, and procurement teams
- Deliver against sales targets
Requirements
- Technical sales experience within pumps, rotating equipment, valves, seals, compressors, or similar mechanical equipment
- Experience selling into industrial end users
- Strong mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of process industries such as chemical, oil & gas, wastewater, or food & beverage
- Excellent communication and commercial skills
- Full UK driving licence
