Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Electric Automation (East Anglia, potentially over to Leicester and Coventry)

Are you passionate about industrial electrical automation, pneumatics and associated technology delivering intelligent engineering solutions?

I am looking for an experienced Area Sales Engineer (Living in East Anglia, Coventry or Leicester) to join a leading industrial automation company, where you’ll combine your technical expertise with a consultative sales approach to support customers, covering the OEM / large customer base within the East Anglia area.

This role focuses on delivering high-value Electrical Automation Automation solutions, strengthening long-term partnerships, and driving sustainable growth.

To be considered for this opportunity, the successful candidate must be a Full UK Citizen, and must have significant experience in electric automation technology.

Your Role

As Area Sales Engineer, you will act as a trusted advisor to OEM customers / large users, helping them optimise their processes through innovative automation solutions.

  • Develop and grow relationships with key industrial customers, or the OEM customer base.
  • Support customers in identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions.
  • Drive sales growth and identify new opportunities.
  • Deliver value-based, solution-oriented sales rather than product-only approaches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technically and commercially robust solutions.
  • Contribute to joint business planning and market development initiatives.
  • Act as the face of the business, representing a strong, innovative automation brand.

Your Technical Expertise

You will bring a strong foundation in industrial automation and Electrical Automation, with particular focus on:

  • PLC control technology and electrical systems.
  • Servo drive technologies, stepper motor control and electrical automation.
  • Handling solutions including pneumatics, electrical drive cylinders and associated drives.

What You Bring

  • Experience in industrial electrical automation, pneumatics and control systems.
  • A consultative, solution-oriented sales mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand customer processes and translate them into automation solutions.
  • Proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on results and customer value.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • Degree/HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience within industrial electrical automation or technical sales.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
