Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Area Sales Manager to manage and grow an established territory across the North of England.
This is a field-based sales role for a specialist provider of pump design, installation and maintenance solutions. The role would suit a technically minded sales professional with experience selling into housing developers, contractors, consultants, water companies, infrastructure projects, or wider water/wastewater engineering markets.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and selling a range of pumping station, water engineering and maintenance solutions across your region.

Responsibilities
As the Area Sales Manager, you will:
- Manage and develop customer accounts across the Northern/Central territory
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across the region
- Sell pumping station design, installation, servicing and maintenance solutions
- Work with housing developers, consultants, contractors and water companies
- Generate leads, prepare quotations, follow up opportunities, and close sales
- Build long-term relationships with key customers and industry contacts
- Support sales across private pumping stations, adoptable pumping stations and infrastructure pumping projects
- Promote solutions including:
- Submersible pumps
- Sewage treatment plants
- Rainwater harvesting equipment
- Oil/grease separators
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and CRM activity
- Monitor competitors, market trends, and project opportunities
- Represent the company professionally across:
- Site visits
- Customer meetings
- Industry events

Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Area Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or Technical Sales Manager
- Experience selling into pumps, pumping stations, wastewater, water engineering, utilities, infrastructure or construction-related markets
- Strong understanding of technical/project-led sales
- Experience working with housing developers, consultants, contractors, or water companies (highly desirable)
- Confident managing a large field-based territory
- Strong communication, negotiation and closing skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently
- Confident using CRM and sales reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence
