Area Sales Manager – Yorkshire and North West
We are looking for a talented and experienced Area Sales Manager to join our HIC – Home Improvements Channel team, covering the Yorkshire and North West regions. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional to grow our presence across the construction, flooring and tiling sectors while representing the trusted ARDEX and Building Adhesives brands.
You will bring strong sales experience, a good understanding of current market trends and the confidence to build relationships with distributors, merchant stockists, contractors and end users. You will be self-motivated, comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team, and able to communicate clearly with customers at all levels.
As part of the HIC – Home Improvements Channel department, you will develop sales of Building Adhesives and ARDEX products across your area by supporting distributors, merchant stockists, contractors, specifiers and end users. You will provide local technical sales support, identify new opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and help ensure our products are promoted, stocked and readily available across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve annual area sales targets in line with the agreed business plan
- Deliver individual area goals and objectives agreed as part of your annual business plan
- Complete monthly customer reviews of sales performance and activity with your manager
- Identify and develop new customers, contractors and stockists for Dunlop and ARDEX products
- Develop new and existing contractor relationships through specialist distribution, ensuring customers understand the ARDEX product range and the technical support available
- Share information clearly and accurately using email and Microsoft Office
- Provide customer contact information to the Customer Service team to help maintain the company contact database
- Provide monthly market intelligence reports based on customer feedback and sales area activity

What you will achieve
- Achieve agreed targets, goals and objectives for your defined sales area, working closely with the Head of HIC
- Promote Dunlop and ARDEX products within buying groups and specialist distributors
- Build and maintain a local distributor network to ensure Dunlop and ARDEX products are stocked and available in your area
Contractors
- Build, maintain and develop relationships with contractors, installers and other end users who can support growth of the ARDEX merchant range. Activities may include:
- ARDEX product training
- Local project and site support
- ARDEX product promotions
- ARDEX internal and external demonstration days

Distributors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and their contractor customers to support sales growth. Activities may include:
- Trade exhibitions and events
- ARDEX product promotions
- Internal and external demonstration days
Market Intelligence
- Share monthly market intelligence from your sales area, including customer feedback, competitor activity, pricing trends, new opportunities and other developments that may be relevant to the business
Areas of Operation
- Identify sales opportunities and take action to develop sales and specifications across key areas, including:
- Specialist distributors
- Commercial contractors
- Large national merchant sheds
About you
Qualifications and education:
- A good general standard of education, with qualifications relevant to the role or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- A proven track record in sales, ideally within the merchant, construction or building products sector
