About This Role
Are you an experienced Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or ambitious Sales Executive looking to take ownership of your own territory in the HGV sector? This Area Sales Manager role within Dawsongroup Truck and Trailer puts you at the forefront of Contract Hire, Term Rental, and Transient Rental solutions, driving new business and growing fleet utilisation across a defined region.
- Win new customers through proactive prospecting, networking, and intelligent use of our Sales Information Database.
- Promote the benefits of usership over ownership to fleet operators running their own vehicles.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline across short and long-term rental solutions.
- Take accountability for revenue, profit, and fleet utilisation targets.
- Work closely with the Regional Head of Sales and Contract Hire Manager to convert larger opportunities.
About You
You are commercially focused, confident in front of customers, and motivated by winning new business. Whether you have direct HGV rental experience or a strong background in B2B sales within transport, logistics, or asset-based services, you understand how to open doors and turn conversations into long-term partnerships.

- Comfortable generating your own leads through cold calling, referrals, and industry networking.
- Able to manage a sales pipeline and keep CRM records accurate and up to date.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to spot growth opportunities and competitor activity.
- Organised and self-driven, balancing short-term wins with long-term contracts.
- Confident collaborating with branch teams and senior stakeholders.
