About This Role

Are you an experienced Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or field based Sales Executive looking for your next challenge? This Area Sales Manager opportunity with Dawsongroup EMC offers the chance to grow a high potential territory across the municipal, waste, recycling, utilities, and industrial sectors while building long term customer partnerships across both public and private sector organisations.

You will play a key role in driving profitable rental growth across the South East region, securing new business opportunities while developing existing customer relationships, ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, commercial ownership, and being out with customers.

  • Driving new business growth across municipal, industrial, utilities, waste, and recycling customers
  • Building relationships with councils, contractors, fleet operators, and infrastructure businesses
  • Managing a strong pipeline of long and short term rental opportunities across the territory
  • Working closely with operational and sales teams to maximise fleet utilisation and customer satisfaction
  • Achieving KPI’s, utilisation targets, and revenue growth objectives across the region

About You

You could already be working as an Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or in a field sales role where winning new business and building customer relationships is at the centre of what you do. We are looking for someone commercially focused, proactive, and motivated by creating opportunities and delivering results.

Experience within asset rental, municipal, industrial, waste, utilities, plant, fleet, or related sectors would be beneficial, but we are equally interested in people with strong sales experience, transferable skills, and the right mindset. Even if you do not tick every box, we would still encourage you to apply if you have the drive and potential to succeed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
