Area Sales Manager (Remote)
Summary
Experienced outside sales professional responsible for driving residential sales growth across a defined territory through new business development, customer relationship management, and strategic account growth. Represents Viessmann Residential & Light Commercial (RLC) by developing long-term customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering solutions that meet customer needs. Works cross-functionally to achieve sales, margin, and market share objectives while supporting the company's growth strategy. Job Description
Role Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth across the Viessmann Residential & Light Commercial (RLC) product portfolio within the assigned territory, achieving sales, margin, and market share objectives.
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing residential installers, distributors, and key customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building trusted relationships and understanding customer requirements to recommend appropriate products and services.
- Demonstrate expert technical knowledge of Viessmann RLC products and systems, effectively communicating product features, benefits, system applications, and control solutions.
- Position the appropriate Carrier brands—including Carrier, Viessmann, Toshiba —using customer segmentation and market knowledge to maximize share of wallet.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue sales opportunities within the residential installer channel to generate demand for products and service offerings.
- Lead business development activities within the assigned customer segment in support of regional and national sales strategies.
- Identify project and bid opportunities, negotiate with customers, and support successful project awards.
- Collaborate with regional sales teams and cross-functional partners to deliver a seamless customer experience and support territory growth.
- Gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to support product strategy, sales planning, and business development initiatives.
- Maintain expert knowledge of competitor products, industry trends, and market developments.
- Represent Carrier at trade shows, customer events, and industry exhibitions to increase brand awareness and generate new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline management within CRM in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare presentations, reports, forecasts, and territory plans as required.
- Manage assigned territory budgets and resources effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
- Proven sales experience within either of the heating, HVAC, heat pump, renewable energy, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success in field sales, business development, and account management.
- Experience developing residential installer or contractor networks.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Experience preparing presentations, reports, forecasts, and managing sales budgets.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing sales experience within the heating, HVAC, or renewable energy industry.
- Strong technical understanding of residential heating systems, heat pumps, and controls.
- Experience working with multiple product brands and channel sales strategies.
- Knowledge of competitive products and market trends within the residential heating industry.
- Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with strong commercial acumen and a customer-focused mindset.

Working Conditions
- Remote, field-based position.
- Frequent travel throughout the assigned sales territory, including occasional overnight travel.
- Attendance at customer meetings, trade shows, and company events as required.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between £42,000.00-£84,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
