Area Sales Manager
Sales Manager (Area) – Generator & Power Solutions

Position Overview
Finning Power Rental is one of the world’s leading providers of custom rental power solutions, including generators, load banks, transformers, and related equipment. As an Area Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth by delivering tailored rental power solutions to both existing and new customers.
About the Role
You will build strategic sales relationships, win new business, and maximise profitability within your designated territory. With a focus on technical expertise, customer engagement, and revenue growth, this role is ideal for an ambitious professional with a background in sales and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Market Engagement & Relationship Management
- Generate high-quality sales leads and identify customer requirements to secure new business.
- Win and retain customers, ensuring 30% account management and 70% new business growth.
- Develop long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships to expand market share.
- Attend industry events, engage in technical presentations, and deliver tailored proposals.
Sales Plan Development & Execution
- Develop and execute a Sales Plan for your territory, leveraging digital tools, lapsed accounts, and customer data.
- Prepare and submit quotations, technical proposals, and presentations in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records on Customer Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and provide sales/market analysis reports.
- Contribute to sales forecasting and share insights on revenue opportunities.

Financial & Operational Accountability
- Ensure revenue accuracy and compliance with payment terms within customer base.
- Collaborate with Technical Operations, Finance, and Applications Teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Collaboration & Performance
- Work closely with internal teams to refine proposals and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Achieve targeted sales growth while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Requirements & Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum: Tertiary qualification in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical).
- Essential:
- Proven sales and technical expertise in the industrial services or rental sector.
- Track record of exceeding sales targets (quantifiable achievement preferred).
- Experience in contract negotiation and customer-facing solutions.
- Strong product knowledge in generators, load banks, or related power rental equipment.
- Additional:
- Ability to drive market share growth and demonstrate revenue-impacting strategies.
- Understanding of rental industry trends and customer purchase motivations.
