Technical Area Sales Manager Opportunity – Turf & Golf Sector!

SOUTH WALES SALES REMIT

Ideal candidates will live in the Southern area of Wales.

This role is perfect for Greenkeepers, Head of Grounds, or Course Managers looking to transition from a practical background into a full-time commercial role.


Technical Area Sales Manager Opportunity – Turf Sector

This field sales role is open to candidates living in Southern Wales, positioned as a central hub for geographical sales coverage. The role combines current account management with targeted new sales.

Your candidate pool includes:

  • Individuals with proven commercial experience.
  • Practical-based professionals transitioning into sales.

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Annual Base Salary: Circa £40k-£45k per annum (negotiable, depending on experience).
  • Bonus scheme applicable.
  • Company car (traditionally a Tesla).
  • Monday to Friday working hours.
  • Opportunity to work with top sporting clients in the UK – primarily golf sector.
  • 25 days of leave + Bank Holidays.

THE BUSINESS

An excellent, market-leading client in the Agricultural and Sporting retail industries, your company is focused on fine turf management.

Key traits for success:

  • Driven and technically minded turf professional.
  • Passion for sports surface management.
  • Experience/understanding of turf products, soil health, soil nutrition, and growing conditions.

Open to candidates with:

  • Commercial experience.
  • Practical experience in turf management or sales territory.

THE ROLE

Sales & Account Management:

  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with:
    • Greenkeepers
    • Course Managers
    • Grounds teams
    • Other key stakeholders

Sales Growth & Strategy:

  • Drive sales and revenue growth across your designated territory using a broad, diverse product portfolio.
  • Identify and leverage the best use of training for customer success.

Technical & Agronomic Support:

  • Provide agronomic support and technical advice to customers.
  • Ensure clients achieve the best results from products and solutions.

Influence & Closing:

  • Work independently and proactively to:
    • Identify sales opportunities.
    • Influence decision-makers.
    • Close business.

Market & Product Development:

  • Contribute to new product development, sharing market insights.
  • Support R&D and marketing teams with feedback.

Marketing & Strategy Creation:

  • Work closely with internal teams to drive customer success and company growth.

THE PERSON

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a technical role (golf/fine turf sector) – either practically or commercially.
  • Ideally with a strong technical understanding:
    • Turf product use.
    • Soil health.
    • Nutrition.
    • Plant protection.
    • (Possible background in agronomy/horticulture).)
