Area Sales Manager - North - Manchester-Scotland
Posting Start Date: 7/16/26
Manchester, GBR, M1 2WD
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a 10% annual bonus.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week - This is a field-based role, with an expected working pattern of 4 days in the field visiting customers and supporting your team, and 1 day working from home for planning, administration, and virtual meetings.
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join our UK Sales team. Your main responsibility will be to manage and lead a team of Sales Representatives, developing and implementing sales strategies and ensuring the achievements of sales targets within the area.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Sales Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve their sales targets and objectives.
- Territory Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and market share within the assigned territory.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry regulations to adapt the sales strategy accordingly.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to sales representatives, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required to succeed.
- Budget Management: Manage the sales budget for the area and ensure that expenditures are in line with the company's financial objectives.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales activities, achievements, and challenges, and present them to the senior management team.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and industry regulations, including age-restriction laws for tobacco products.

What Skills and Experience Will Be Required?
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the tobacco industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical and strategic thinking to develop effective sales plans.
- Familiarity with UK tobacco industry regulations and market dynamics.
- You will have a Full UK Driving License.
