Are you a practical, customer-focused individual looking for a career as an Area Sales Manager within the construction and DIY products sector?

Do you have experience in construction, trade sales, branch sales, merchant sales, or a hands-on product environment and want to take the next step into a field-based role?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, demonstrating products, and providing solutions to customers.

The Role of Area Sales Manager

This is a field-based, home-based role covering North London and Hertfordshire.

As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for demonstrating, promoting, and selling a range of professional construction and DIY products to end users, contractors, and distribution partners.

You will manage an established territory, developing relationships and identifying new opportunities across sectors including:

  • Facilities Management companies
  • Maintenance companies
  • Local Authorities
  • Landscaping businesses
  • Construction contractors
  • Trade professionals
  • Distribution partners

Working from home, you will plan your own diary and spend the majority of your time visiting customers face-to-face, understanding their requirements and providing the right product solutions.

This role will suit a practical, hands-on person with an interest in construction and DIY products who enjoys customer interaction, demonstrations, and helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
