Area Sales Manager - Scotland
A vacancy has arisen within our Earth Moving Sales department for an Area Sales Manager – Scotland.
The role, covering post code areas DG, EH, FK, G, KA, ML, PA, TD, contributes to the success of the Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd Earth Moving Technical division through the delivery of highly developed sales skills. With a passion not only for targets but also for people the role will constantly strive to increase the client base whilst ensuring outstanding customer service at all times and working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.
Your Responsibilities In The Area Sales Manager Role
- Contributing to the sales growth of the division by generating sales leads as a result of effective networking, referrals and prospecting.
- Successfully identifying, penetrating and closing business opportunities to a successful end, including additional sales opportunities in terms of parts and rentals.
- Preparing and following up with quotations and ensuring timely payments from clients.
- Negotiating within a defined framework so as to be able to achieve a sale.
- Monitoring orders closely and can rapidly escalating any lost order issues so as to minimise any financial loss.
- Consistently achieving sales and profitability targets.
- Maintaining an excellent relationship with suppliers ensuring that the correct specifications for an order are delivered to the customer.
- Working in harmony with the Sales office organisation and other departments to maximise productivity and reduce costs.
- Communicating effectively with After Sales so as to ensure a smooth and seamless handover of products to customers.
- Actively supporting the development of Sales Trainees, providing them with every opportunity to enhance their skills and experiences.
- Actively developing a network of new customer relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Maintaining and developing an excellent relationship with existing clients, establishing regular communication to be able to assess any new requirements.
- Maintaining an accurate database of all customer contact details and shares this information willingly with other areas of the business.
- Taking ownership for customer complaints, remains the point of contact and resolves these to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Identifying the opportunity to supervise product demonstrations at selected customer sites so as to facilitate the closing of new business deals.
- Taking the initiative to be involved with product and industry exhibitions and is able to add value.

The successful candidate will require the following:
- Able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry
- Strong IT skills, including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office (or equivalent)
- Flexible approach to work
- Demonstrable skills in negotiation and selling
- Outstanding communication skills and can demonstrate how this has been used effectively in a team environment
