Area Sales Manager

Business Development Manager – On Trade Growth (Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire)

Company Background C&C Group plc is a premium drinks company that owns, manufactures, markets, and distributes a unique portfolio of beer and cider brands across the UK and globally. Our portfolio includes brands like Bulmers, Magners, and Tennent’s—entailed in some of the world’s most recognised names in drinks.


Purpose of the Role

To deliver strategic profitable growth within the On Trade by:

  • Driving business development opportunities across all product categories.
  • Implementing targeted trade investments for maximum impact.
  • Proactively leading key account growth, developing new streams, and optimising existing revenue streams.

Location This is a field-based role, primarily covering Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. Ideal candidates are based nearby or familiar with the region.


About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Leverage brand, portfolio, and category expertise to grow existing and new accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to enhance their offerings and maximise sales performance.
  • Manage budget spend in your territory, driving volume, distribution and retention for optimal profitability.
  • Ensure adherence to credit term agreements and assist in financial negotiations as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and results-driven approach.
  • Build strong partnerships with critical suppliers to secure best-in-class support.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achieve margin, revenue, volume, and distribution targets.
  • Meet supplier partnership distribution goals.
  • Strengthen relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders to support business growth.

About You

This role requires an industry-driven professional with:

  • A proven track record in fast-paced sales, preferably within FMCG (consumer goods preferred).
  • Demonstrated core sales skills, including influence, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and numeric abilities to quantify success accurately.
  • A commercial mindset, capable of formulating creative solutions.
  • Exemplary relationship-building skills with different stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to balance high-paced demands.
  • Adaptability to evolving market conditions and strategic solutions development.
  • UK full driving licence is mandatory as this is a field-based role.

Ideally, candidates are familiar with or live in the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire area.
