Area Sales Manager (Truck-Mounted Aerial Platforms) – UK

Position Summary
Socage Group, a leading manufacturer of truck-mounted aerial platforms, is seeking a driven and commercially focused Area Sales Manager to develop and grow its presence in the UK market. The role will focus on expanding sales, strengthening relationships with key accounts, and positioning Socage as a reliable partner for high-quality access solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a UK sales strategy to grow market share and achieve sales targets
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with rental companies, utilities, telecom operators, and local authorities.
  • Manage and expand relationships with dealers, distributors, and key customers across the UK.
  • Promote Socage’s product range (truck-mounted and spider platforms), highlighting performance, reliability, and compliance with UK standards.
  • Prepare and negotiate quotations, tenders, and framework agreements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and support customers with technical-commercial expertise.
  • Monitor competitor activity and UK market trends (including rental sector dynamics).
  • Liaise with internal teams (production, engineering, after-sales) to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support after-sales development, including service and maintenance networks in the UK.
  • Represent Socage at UK trade shows and industry events.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven sales experience in MEWP, truck-mounted equipment, or capital goods.
  • Strong understanding of the UK access platform market and rental industry.
  • Existing network within access rental, utilities, telecoms, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
  • Technical understanding of hydraulic/mechanical equipment.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and manage a national territory.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
