AREA SALES MANAGER

Bunzl Guardsman Safety Solutions – Wednesbury (Field-based Midlands/Wales)

Salary - £35,000 + Bonus + Car

Bunzl Guardsman Safety Solutions is looking for a driven, commercially minded Area Sales Manager to join our growing team. This is a high-impact role where you’ll manage and grow an established portfolio, while also winning new business across the Midlands and Wales.

The Role

As Area Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of key customer accounts and develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities. You’ll work closely with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer solutions, improve margins, and grow revenue across your patch.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing, nurturing and expanding an existing customer portfolio
  • Identifying, targeting and winning new business opportunities (£50k–£1m+)
  • Producing customer business plans aligned to budget and growth targets
  • Preparing quotes and supporting tender submissions to ensure strong commercial returns
  • Working collaboratively with Sales, Purchasing and Contracts teams to win major opportunities
  • Growing sales and margin by extending product range, volume and own-brand solutions
  • Building long-term customer relationships through regular meetings and site visits
  • Managing pricing, customer expectations and contract retention
  • Providing monthly reporting to customers and senior management
  • Ensuring company vehicle safety and compliance with driving regulations

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven success in a complex B2B sales environment
  • Strong track record of key account management and new business wins
  • Commercially astute with the ability to manage margin and contract performance
  • Excellent communicator with confidence presenting and negotiating at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong planning and workload management skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a hunger to outperform targets
  • Full UK driving licence
