The Area Support Security Officer Role

A flexible support role based in Wakefield, primarily working on-site, with a chance for coverage across multiple locations depending on contract needs. This position includes on-call duties, no fixed working hours, and requires adaptability to shift patterns and varying site requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional security support across designated customer sites
  • Patrol premises to ensure the safety and security
  • Monitor and operate access control systems
  • Respond to incidents, while documenting and reporting breaches
  • Collaborate with site management and emergency services when necessary
  • Act as a backup/reserve officer to support colleagues
  • Uphold OCS’s security policies and customer service standards

Qualifications & Skills Required

Core Security Competencies

  • Proven experience in:
    • Guarding, patrolling, and access control
    • Incident response in corporate, retail, or facilities environments
  • Valid SIA licence (SG/DS/CP)
  • Situational awareness, risk assessment abilities
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices (training provided)

  • Proficiency in:
    • CCTV operations
    • Access control platforms
    • Digital reporting tools
    • Radio communication
  • Basic IT proficiency

  • Ability to produce clear verbal and written reports

Flexibility & Reliability

  • Reliable attendance, flexibility to cover multiple locations

  • Valid driving license preferred (for travel needs)
