Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role that offers variety, flexibility, and genuine career development? We're seeking a confident and adaptable Veterinary Surgeon to support our well-established Medivet practices across Stevenage, Stanstead Abbotts, Mansfield Cottage, Welwyn Garden City (Mill Green Road), Little Hadham, Potters Bar, Cheshunt, and Enfield 24-Hour Hospital for bank holiday and on-call commitments.
This is an exciting opportunity for a vet with at least 3 years' UK small animal experience who enjoys working within different practice environments while building strong relationships with multiple teams. - Soft Tissue Surgery
- Dentistry
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Cardiology
In addition, Stanstead Abbotts is equipped with endoscopy facilities, whilst our Enfield 24-Hour Hospital provides access to an outstanding team of experienced emergency and inpatient clinicians.
To ensure you feel fully supported, you'll be paired with a dedicated veterinary "Buddy" who will remain a trusted source of guidance and support throughout your journey with Medivet.

Across the region, you'll have access to excellent equipment and facilities, including:
- Digital radiography

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
