Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Armenian cuisine chef role based in Manchester. The chef will be responsible for:
- Planning and preparing traditional Armenian dishes, including hot and cold starters, grilled meats, stews, and specialty breads and desserts.
- Managing food preparation.
- Overseeing kitchen operations.
- Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all menu items.
- Collaborating with the restaurant team on menu development, inventory management, and efficient service during lunch and dinner shifts.
- Training junior kitchen staff.
- Minimizing food waste.
- Contributing to a positive, respectful working environment.

Qualifications

- Strong experience preparing and cooking traditional Armenian or similar regional cuisines, with knowledge of key ingredients, recipes, and cooking techniques.
- Proficiency in kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking methods, portion control, and plating to restaurant standards.
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices, including proper storage, temperature control, and cleanliness.
- Ability to manage time and workflows in a busy kitchen, handle multiple orders, and work efficiently during peak service periods.
- Experience mentoring or supervising kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a calm, professional kitchen atmosphere.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to consistent quality and guest satisfaction.
- Prior experience as a chef or cook in a restaurant setting; formal culinary training or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
