Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence, Civil Service workforce is diverse, with many different functions and professions ranging from cyber and digital transformation, police officers, security guards, trainers, human resources, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, and policy secretariat staff to support the British Army.

HQ ARRC (Allied Rapid Reaction Corps) sits within the Land Forces Army structure which is part of the Army and a major part of the MOD. HQ ARRC provides NATO with a rapidly deployable, flexible HQ that can act as a Joint, Land or Corps HQ for operations and crisis response. Its multi-national ethos, combination of cultures and innovation, strong professional reputation in NATO and proven track record in interoperability are unique among its High Readiness Force (Land) peers.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

The Central Staffs Administrator will be responsible for Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Support for Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) as part of HQ ARRC Strategic Reserve Corp providing continuity to the i-hub during periods of deployability. This is in line with Army Strategic Objectives ‘Become a Data Centric Digital Army’, and ‘The ARRC has a culture of data literacy and excellence in information knowledge management’.

Key Responsibilities:

Information Management Administration (80% of the role)

  • Ensuring adherence across the organisation to IKM policy and practices.
  • Document and Record Management.
  • Information dissemination; in and around ARRC
  • Information assurance, ensuring the appropriate policy and procedures are in place across the organisation along with the appropriate organisational structure to maintain it. Ensuring the arrangements are in place across the organisation for the security of physical documents and information.
  • Information handling. Ensuring that the rules for secure storage and transmission of information, in particular protectively marked material are widely understood and rigorously followed across the organisation.
  • Guidance, education, support and advice to all ARRC staff on IKM and collaborative ways of working.
  • Contribute to the development of Training Objectives and deliver training packages for all ARRC software applications; forming a baseline, to accredit ARRC personnel for the work and usage of ARRC Nato Secret (NS) OpNET Blue operational SharePoint portal, NS ARRC External portal, exercise portal.

Postal Administration (20% of the role)

  • Responsible for parcels book, registered mail, recorded mail, address book maintenance, classified mail and liaison with station post room on all HQ ARRC postal requirements.
  • Guidance, education, support and advice to all ARRC staff on IKM and collaborative ways of working.
  • Additional support for postal duties when required.

Person specification

Essential Skills Required:

  • Exceptional organisational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines, demonstrating an ability to prioritise workload and work on multiple tasks at one time.
  • The ability to engage and communicate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, always maintaining professionalism.
  • Be an adaptable team player, with experience of working collaboratively, but comfortable when working alone, with minimal direction.
  • Have Microsoft Office experience, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
