Andover Support Unit supports the whole site of Army Headquarters, Field Army and many other Lodger Units from Building Management, through to Stores Management. This unique team is a front facing department and will deal with a whole array of individuals. The role of the HR Administrator is a busy role and will interact with individuals from all ranks of the Military.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

This role is predominantly focused on the administration of Military Personnel. You will be responsible for the provision of the Human Resources (HR) support; for example, processing onboarding and departure processes, implementing eligible allowance entitlements, maintaining the customer salaries and their documentation, along with carrying out Reception Desk duties that require you to provide face to face advice to Military Personnel, all of which will be supported by relevant training and mentoring throughout.

Main Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1st line advice and assistance to customers when on Reception Desk duties.
  • Arrange MS Teams appointments with military personnel assigned to the Army Headquarters.
  • Ensure the arrivals pack is completed correctly and all supporting documentation for allowances is handed in.
  • Guide the service person on how to maintain their personal record on the Joint Personnel Administration system (JPA) Also give a brief overview of fields on JPA to assist individuals in using the software application.
  • Move/Track personnel on Separated Service/Operations/Course/Meetings. Process start/stop and changes to applications for PAX insurance.
  • Process new bank details and any changes to existing bank accounts.
  • Issue NATO Travel Orders. Maintain Service Identity Cards/ID Discs.
  • Update retrospective absence such as leave, sick and compassionate.
  • Despatch documents on posting.
  • PAY- Deduct service persons JPA pay account for Railcards and clothing/barrack damages.
  • Determine the eligibility for Maternity Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Armed Forces Occupational-Maternity Scheme (AFMOS).
  • Provide assistance with I Expenses.
  • Issue paperwork to SP for the Yearly Bonus to allow me to action payment on JPA if all criteria met.
  • Update career courses on JPA on receipt of the Course certificate. Add Qualifications such as Degrees onto Service persons JPA record.
