Job Summary
13 Signal Regiment provides UK Armed Forces with specialist ‘through-life’ technical support and assurance to deployable information and communication services in order to facilitate information exploitation and the ultimate attainment of information superiority, managing the delivery of Information Management (IM) support services for 13 Signal Regiment, the post is critical to managing IM for a Defence Cyber Operations focused organisation.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
As an Information Management Officer, you will act as the focal point for information management, ensuring effective governance, security, and administration of digital information systems across the organisation. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of SharePoint and Teams environments, supporting electronic working practices, managing user access permissions, delivering information management training, and providing technical support for hardware and software requirements. You will work closely with stakeholders to improve collaboration tools, protect business critical information, and ensure compliance with MOD policies, legislation, and information security standards.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Information Management Focal Point.
- MODNET Developer and Administrator, Build, control and maintain all 13 Signal Regiment (SR) SharePoint Online sites, maintain supporting documents in support of SPOL structure.
- Teams Owner and administrator of all 13 SR Team sites.
- SharePoint sites continuous development, to improve users work areas.
- Produce Information Management Working Group Presentation slides and Record of Actions and Decisions.
- Shared Services Group Mailbox Administrator, permission settings to protect and assure 13SR business critical data.
- Primary Authorised Requester, observing legislation and governance for email addresses.
- Local Security Officer, password resets.
- Information Management and security training focal point.
- Aid staff to use Electronic Working Practices.
- Continuous support for all spare/pooled hardware, ensure software updates are observed.
- One Page Business Case administrator for hardware/software requests.
- Provide direction to the Central Hub and deal with any issues raised by them and more complex requests to ensure a high quality of service is maintained.
Person specification
Essential Skills Required:
Information Management & Governance
Knowledge of information management principles, data protection, records management, and security procedures.
SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Administration
Ability to develop, maintain, and administer SharePoint sites, Teams environments, user permissions, and collaborative workspaces.
Digital and Technical Support
Experience supporting users with hardware, software, account administration, password resets, and electronic working practices.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Strong ability to explain technical information clearly, deliver training, produce presentations, and provide guidance to staff at all levels.

Selection process details

Where a large number of applications are received, an initial sift will be conducted based on the evidence you provide in support of Managing a Quality Service.
