Job Summary
The Ministry of Defence, Civil Service workforce is diverse, with many different functions and professions ranging from cyber and digital transformation, police officers, security guards, trainers, human resources, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, and policy secretariat staff to support the British Army.
The Army Collective Training Service (ACTS) is a £2.5 Billion fifteen-year Government Major Projects Portfolio programme with an in-service date of 2026. The ACTS Management Team (MT) is a high profile, exciting and fast paced organisation, working to deliver the future collective training solution for the British Army in collaboration with an industry Strategic Training Partner (STP).
To achieve all of this, the future contract and process must be agile and responsive to change. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to this through the management of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) from an early stage, ensuring the collation and coherence of ILS data is accurate and maintained throughout the ACTS lifecycle, therefore ensuring the STP have the correct equipment to deliver collective training across the live, virtual and constructive systems.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job Description
The role ensures the collation and coherence of data is accurate and maintained throughout the ACTS lifecycle, therefore ensuring the STP have the correct equipment to deliver collective training across the live, virtual and constructive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record the STP generated data as identified during the contract stages, ensuring that records are maintained throughout the ACTS contract.
- Identifying the resourcing, financial, safety and training implications throughout the asset’s lifecycle including contract closure and disposal.
- Confirmation through interrogation of codification data / NATO Stock Numbers to determine the MoD controlling authorities and using online logistic framework tools conduct stock check / repair plans for items or parts that are controlled by the relevant Delivery Team and / or STP which may impact on the delivery of the ACTS by the STP to meet the ILS requirements.
- Manage records and conduct the annual check of serviceability and quantities of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) the STP have taken to account.
- Confirm the Assets Subject to Special Control and confirm if the GFE is controlled under a foreign export control regulation, e.g. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Manage stock checks and advise the STP that GFE requirements can or cannot be satisfied, notifying the ACTS Finance Cost Control of the GFE requirements.
- The post holder may also be required to undertake other related duties at the discretion of the Line Manager and in accordance with changing business needs.

Essential Skills Required:
- Experience of working in an ILS management environment, seeking to build on existing skillset involving performance and stakeholder management.
- Must be a self-starter, and confident with decision making.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Audit/fraud/commercial awareness
- Public sector procurement experience
- Export control compliance
Desirable Skills:
- Logistics/supply chain qualification (Minimum Level 3 NVQ)
- ILS/supply chain/operations experience
- Ability to manage logistics data/assets
- Lifecycle management experience

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
