What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lecturer in Art & Design, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across a range of Art & Design programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. You'll encourage creativity, develop practical skills and prepare learners for progression into higher education or the creative industries. Please note, this position is part-time, 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Art & Design teaching across a range of courses.
  • Develop engaging, learner-centred lessons using innovative, flexible and blended learning approaches.
  • Support learners through effective coaching, tutorials and pastoral guidance.
  • Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and provide constructive assessment feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of new, inspiring learning opportunities.
  • Participate in learner recruitment, interviews, inductions and promotional activities.
  • Take an active role in course teams, quality improvement initiatives, open events and enrichment activities, including study trips.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain outstanding learner outcomes and an excellent student experience.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a passionate creative educator who can inspire learners while bringing current industry knowledge into the classroom.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree or relevant professional qualification in Art & Design or a related creative discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience teaching or working within Art & Design.
  • Knowledge of both contemporary and historical Art & Design practice.
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of both PC and Apple Mac platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and delivering an outstanding learner experience.
  • A passion for continuous professional development and keeping up to date with developments within both education and the creative industries.
