Job Description:

We’re looking for 2 experienced Art Directors to lead the visual direction for our ambitious new mobile games. You will join New Games and play a central role in shaping, developing and launching new titles. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define artistic vision, grow high-performing teams and partner with cross-functional leaders to create games players will love.

New Games is focused on creating the next generation of mobile games at King, working across both new IP and existing game IP.

Your Role Within the Kingdom

As Art Director, you will lead the artistic vision for a game from concept through to launch, ensuring the visual experience is distinctive, high quality and aligned to player expectations. You will combine strategic leadership with hands-on creative direction to support gameplay, player experience and product goals.

You will:

  • Define, evolve and execute a clear art vision for a mobile game, translating creative ambition into direction for teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary art teams, coaching senior artists and leaders while supporting growth and performance.
  • Partner closely with producers, game designers, developers, business performance, player insights and marketing to align art direction with game strategy and player needs.
  • Guide the creation of gameplay assets, characters, environments, animation, mood boards, style guides and brand guidelines from concept to in-game implementation.
  • Shape team ways of working and creative processes that support excellence at both game and studio level.
  • Work across new IP, existing IP and external partnerships, bringing a strong understanding of technical constraints and content implementation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
